We provide many services for our clients and their skin care needs. Our licensed aesthetician is very knowledgeable about all aspects of skin care and the treatment of skin conditions. A first consultation is complimentary. Our aesthetician will discuss your concerns with you and help you to determine which skin care services would best suit you.

All of our skin care treatments can be purchased individually, or can be purchased at a discount in packages.

Medically Customized Facials

Shannon's facials have been called the best in the area by many of our clients. A more clinical facial than most, Shannon will customize your facial according to your skin type and use only products suited for your skin. These facials include:

Our state of the art facial room provides quiet, confidential facials without outside distractions. Shannon will examine your skin during the facial and discuss any problem areas which may concern you.

IPL Photo Facial

IPL PhotoFacial combines all of the most desirable aspects of IPL use into one treatment type, usually done in a series of 5-7 treatments. Small facial vessels are diminished or erased, blotchy pigmentation and discoloration is minimized, and collagen is tightened, particularly along the lip and its borders. Although the collagen tightening is rarely mentioned in the Midwest, the PhotoFacial is extremely popular in coastal population centers (LA, New York, Miami, Dallas) for facial toning.

Brow Shaping

Although no waxing is performed at Trillium, Shannon will shape your brows by tweezing if you desire. She is an expert at determining the best shape for you.

Eyelash/Eyebrow Tinting

Shannon will tint your eyebrows or eyelashes, giving a longer, thicker look to your lashes. We have many colors to choose from. Tint normally lasts 3-4 weeks.

Products

We are proud to have two excellent skin product lines to offer our clients. Void of the expensive packaging as in department store brands, these products focus of the ingredients inside the bottle:

M.D. Forte?: A more aggressive skin care line, many of the M.D. Forte? products include percentages of glycolic acid, which can daily break up the dead skin cells sitting on the skins surface. M.D. Forte? also offers acne treatment products, hand and body cream and SPF protection products.

Cosmedix: Our newest line, it is free of artificial additives, paraben free, glycolic acid free, sodium lauryl free, cruelty free, and chirally correct. It is a great alternative for those who want wrinkle reduction without the irritants of other skin care lines.

Microdermabrasion

Trillium offers microdermabrasion with the DermMaster, a safer, more powerful microdermabrasion system. Several treatments with the DermMaster will smooth fine lines and wrinkles, even out uneven skin tone and help with age spots and abnormal pigmentation.

DermMaster uses only water soluble, non-toxic salt which abrades the skin safely. The controversial abrasive aluminum oxide, which has been linked to health risks in other occupational settings, is replaced with safe salt crystals. Quick "lunchtime" treatments allow you to resume normal activities immediately. Our skin care products used before and after enhance positive results even further.

Light Facial Peel

Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxyl acid made from sugar cane which when applied to the skin, loosens the bond of the dead skin cells lying on the surface of the skin. This dead skin layer gives a dull appearance to the skin. Several glycolic peels can help the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Deeper Facial Peels

Purity Peel: This peel is moderate depth detoxifying treatment that fights bacteria, heals acne lesions, yet is very calming.

Deep Sea Peel: This is an herbal non-acid peel that allows penetration from a very superficial to medium depth. It stimulates cell turnover resulting in smoother, denser hydrated skin. This has quickly become our most popular!

Timeless Peel: This "overnight" peel is safe enough to wear while you sleep and is a very effective medium depth peel with virtually no "downtime".

Blueberry Jessner Peel: Jessners is an excellent acne treatment that also fights fine lines and improves the appearance of "mature" skin. It also lightens pigmentation.

L-TCA Peel: A revolutionary medical strength peel facilitates a deeper penetration which aid in antioxidant protection.

Do You Want Nice Skin?

Read This Before You Do Anything Else

Sleep at least 6-7 hours per night. This will make a huge difference in your skin.

Don?t smoke. This will make a huge difference.

Avoid unprotected sun exposure. Wear at least SPF 30 at all times, sunglasses and hats. The self tanning creams now available are very good.

Drink at least 6-8 glasses of water per day

Take at least one multivitamin per day, preferably with antioxidants. Don?t overdo it.

Wash skin gently at least twice per day with gentle cleanser.

Drink alcohol only in moderation, if at all. Overuse will dilate and accentuate any small blood vessels in the face.

Exercise at least twenty minutes per day 6 days a week. Even a brisk walk helps tremendously.

Skin care products will only help if you use them daily.

There is no "quick fix". Skin changes take at least 3-6 months to really be noticeable.

Adult acne requires a completely separate regimen than those who do not have this problem. Skin care products frequently cause acne.

Get a complete medical examination yearly from your family practitioner or internist. Some internal problems are manifested as skin problems.

Don?t always believe the woman/man behind the cosmetics counter. Many know very little about skin care, and most work strictly on commission.

Skin problems can be caused by dietary habits. Healthy eating can improve your skin.

After the age of 40, maintaining your ideal body weight (and especially weight loss to below these levels) invariably creates several problems: smaller breasts, more facial wrinkles, less "shape" in your figure. This is an inescapable fact for almost all Occidental (non-black, non-Asian) women. Please be aware of this. Is the weight loss worth it? Should you strictly diet to "ideal weight levels", only to then want breast augmentation and/or facial surgery? Only you can decide. Remember (above the shoulders) weighing below your ideal weight causes skin laxity, not youthful improvement.
